Speak at Clear Insight

We’re looking for thoughtful speakers from a wide range of backgrounds, disciplines, cultures, and experiences to join us in Brighton.

Clear Insight is a conference about understanding people more deeply. We’re interested in the experiences that changed the way you think, the moments that challenged your assumptions, the approaches that helped you uncover unexpected insights, and the lessons you’ve learned through doing the work.

Whether you’re an experienced conference speaker or applying for your first event, we’d love to hear your ideas. We’re also welcoming proposals for workshops.

What kind of talks are we looking for?

Clear Insight is for researchers who want to move beyond surface-level findings and develop the confidence, judgment, and sensitivity that lead to deeper understanding. It’s also for research leaders, stakeholders, and commissioners who want to think more critically about research quality, value, and impact.

We’re looking for talks that challenge conventional thinking, encourage reflection, and help our audience become better at understanding people—not simply better at applying research methods.

At this stage we’re open to a broad range of ideas, but themes we’re particularly interested in include:

  • Understanding what people need when they don’t know themselves
  • Democratising research
  • Demonstrating the value of research in decision-making
  • Longitudinal research and deeper understanding
  • Taking ownership of research in uncertain times
  • Bridging the gap between research and delivery
  • Creating lasting value from research beyond the final report
  • Working with ambiguity, contradiction, and complexity

If your talk will leave people thinking differently about research, understanding, or the people they design for, we’d love to hear from you.

All speakers are paid for their time, and we’ll also cover accommodation and reasonable economy travel expenses.
